Young Musicians Award 2022 - scores
Breaking News This is a work for solo double bass, commissioned by Antena 2 / RTP for the Young Musicians Award qualifying round, advanced level. It is based on the idea of novelty, and on how, even in the routine environment of a musical loop, something new is recognized with each listening. A clear contrast is established between repetition and the abrupt and unexpected interruption that breaks the perceived regularity. The true starting point for the musical creation was indeed the dictionary definition of the word novelty, which was later reflected in the program notes:
