Iminência is about an obsessive idea that is pursued, but whose realization is never fulfilled. The apparent calm, although restless, covers a state of lack of control, which whenever it emerges, it returns to being cloistered. It is a convinced attempt to reach a place that is suggested and that is always on the verge of materializing.
biography:
Mariana Marques Coelho (b. 2001) is a teacher and composer from Póvoa de Varzim. Currently, the Master's degree in Composition is being carried out at ESMAE. In 2024, she was one of the composers selected for Decomposition, an exhibition of emerging composers, where she presented her piece “Pérola ao Vento” for flute trio. In 2023, the Orquestra Clássica do Centro premiered her piece “5 Quadros sobre o Mar e a Serra”, under the direction of conductor Diogo Costa. In 2022, she co-founded Ensemble Contemporarte, whose main objective is to shorten the distance between musicians and composers, in order to make the creative process more collaborative.
