Marés (2025)

For alto saxophone

Marés (“tides”) is a metaphor for a “sinking into the void” and “staying afloat”, two ideas that, like the waves of the sea, refer to something cyclical and not permanent. Specifically, I take inspiration from a reading of the book Near to the Wild heart by Clarice Lispector and my own somewhat poetic musings that I transmit in musical values. Furthermore, the piece presents an undefined subject in the verses that accompany it, not dedicated to anyone, particularly, but to everyone to whom it can speak more intimately.
